Raiders bring Joe Brady and Davis Webb back for 2nd interviews in search for head coach

By Canadian Press on January 26, 2026.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — The Las Vegas Raiders brought Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Denver quarterbacks coach Davis Webb back for second interviews on Monday as they continue their search for a head coach.

The Raiders have conducted follow-up interviews with four candidates. They also had two interviews with former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and Carolina DC Ejiro Evero. Minter has since been hired as Baltimore’s coach.

Also off the market is former Miami coach Mike McDaniel, who was named the Chargers’ offensive coordinator on Monday.

The Raiders are seeking a replacement for Pete Carroll, who was fired after going 3-14 this season.

With Brady running Buffalo’s offense the past two years, the Josh Allen-led Bills averaged 30.9 points per game in 2024 and 28.3 this season, both in the top four in the NFL. He has been with club since 2022 when the Bills hired him as quarterbacks coach. Brady was promoted to interim offensive coordinator when Ken Dorsey was hired in November 2023 and was named full-time to the position after that season.

He also worked as LSU’s pass game coordinator with Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow and the explosive Tigers offense that won the 2019 national championship.

The 30-year-old Webb is considered an up-and-comer. His work with quarterback Bo Nix helped the Broncos capture the top seed in the AFC. Denver advanced to the AFC championship game, but with Nix out injured, lost 10-7 to New England on Sunday.

Nix passed for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns this season as the Broncos went 14-3.

The Raiders own the top pick in this year’s draft and are expected to take Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza of Indiana, who led his team to the national championship.
