The Clarion Pointe Hotel, formerly known as the Travelodge, will celebrate half a century of service later this month with an open house. Owner Sourav Saha says while he only recently acquired the business, he wanted to commemorate the occasion. “We actually found out the exact date through looking through old papers,” said Saha. “We realized the anniversary is the 31st of January this year. Back then, they did the same thing that we are doing.” Those who visit the hotel on Jan. 31 will be able to take a tour of the facility as part of an open house from 11 a.m to 2 p.m, with refreshments provided. The hotel is also offering a “staycation” package to residents who want to take a weekend away without going far. “We’re super excited about this,” said Saha. “We hope to see everyone come down, enjoy our hospitality and see everything we have to offer.” 6
