Mrs. Kathleen Graham Treuer, beloved wife of the late Mr. Helmut Treuer, passed away in Medicine Hat on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Kathleen’s memory will forever be cherished by her family: daughter, Catherine Treuer; son, Ian Treuer; grandchildren, Jenessa Treuer, Raven Treuer and Chloe Treuer; great-grandchild, Akyra Treuer-Wegener; brother, Garry Benoit (Shuyen Zhao); sister, Marg (Don) Ogden; sister-in-law, Nancy Benoit and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins both here in Canada as well as in Scotland. Along with Helmut, she was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Catherine Benoit as well as a brother, Graham Benoit. Kathleen Graham Treuer was born in Aberdeen, Scotland before immigrating to Canada with her family. She was raised on a farm in Compton, Quebec, later moving to London, ON to complete her schooling. This is also where she married her ‘one true love’, Helmut Treuer, on June 19, 1970. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, family and perseverance. Kathleen was a devoted member of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church for more than 30 years. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was known for her strong convictions, steadfast spirit and willingness to serve her church community. Kathleen had a thirst for knowledge, so after raising her family, she returned to college and graduated with honors as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Professionally, Kathleen worked as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses, where her diligence, reliability, and attention to detail were greatly valued. She was known as a hard-working woman with a strong will and an unwavering sense of responsibility. Outside of work, Kathleen found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. She loved making pickles and salsa, tending her garden and spending time with horses. An avid traveler, she explored Canada from coast to coast and enjoyed overseas travels with her family. Kathleen was also a loyal fan of the Montréal Canadiens, proudly supporting her favorite hockey team. She loved animals of all kinds and had a special bond with her adopted “great-granddog” Midnight. A come and go celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held in the church hall at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 635 – 4 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on February 20, 2026, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. If friends so desire, tributes in memory of Kathleen may be made to the I.C.U. at the Medicine Hat Hospital, c/o the Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation, 666 – 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6 or to the horsemanship program at Eagles Nest Ranch, suite 4, 660 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0C9. JAMIE RING
JAMIE RING 1970 ~ 2026
Jamie Jason Ring, of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, at the age of 55 years. He is survived by his niece, Connie Davies and her children, Destiney Bowie, Aiden Davies (Little Bubba), as well as Connie’s mom, Kathy; brother, Tom Ring; nephew, Raymond Richie as well as numerous other family members. He was predeceased by his brother, and best friend, John Ring; his parents, George and Gladys Ring; his grandparents, Emo and Martha Bierbach-Brown. Jamie was born on September 26, 1970, in Medicine Hat to George and Gladys (Bierbach) Ring. He was raised in Medicine Hat and attended Elm Street School, Alexandra, and Medicine Hat High School where he built friendships and connections that lasted his lifetime.
In Jamie’s adult years, he worked many different jobs, he spoke often of time at Reinhart’s Restaurant, the Dickie Dee ice cream bike, the bingo hall, working trade shows, the stampede, and Calgary stampede just to name a few.
Jamie was an avid wrestling fan and didn’t miss an event. In his younger days he spent time traveling with friends to take in events and he had the photos and memorabilia to prove it. Not only was he fan, but he also built friendships and connections that have lasted over 40 years.
Jamie was involved in many social clubs in his life, the Legion, Elks club, Moose Lodge, AA, to name a few. He loved an opportunity to volunteer and meet new people. If there was a community event, there is a high chance you would find him there.
Over the last few years, Jamie has been able to reconnect with his niece, Connie and her children. He loved every moment he got to spend with them. His little Bubba, he loved watching him grow and maybe spoilt them just a little bit. Connie is grateful for the time they got but is sad that little Bubba won’t be able to make those fun memories with his great uncle.
Family would like to thank the ICU staff for the amazing care in his last few days as well as Dr. Wong and the other medical professionals that Jamie’s path crossed the last few years.
They would also like to thank his workers past and present from REDI Enterprises. A special thank you to Natasha for being there for him and his family to the end.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Fresh Start Recovery, Addiction Mental Health Community, or a charity of their choice. A come and go reception will take place at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where family and friends may also pay their respects.
