MARC ANDREW GRIFFITHS

MARC ANDREW GRIFFITHS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marc Andrew Griffiths on December 8, 2025 at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Marc is survived by his wife Missy Shillito, his 3 sons Turner (son with Tara Griffiths), Cayse & Declan. He also leaves his mother Cheryl Kennedy, his father Norm Griffiths (Marlene), his sister Sheilagh and her daughter Emily-Rae as well as two step-sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marc was born in Ontario on August 26, 1972 and spent his early life and young adulthood in Medicine Hat, Alberta where he eventually became a Journeyman Electrician. He moved to Campbell River in 2011 where he and Missy started their family. He loved spending time with Missy and his boys camping and fishing.
There will be a celebration of Marc’s life on February 7th at the Elks Hall at 503 3rd St. SE at 1:00 pm.

PATRICIA OLSON 1952 ~ 2026 It is with profound love and sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Mary Olson (nee Drury) on Monday, January 19, 2026. She was born February 19, 1954, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, where her life began with strong Catholic values that would shape her character and guide her throughout her years. Patricia was known for her quiet strength, fantastic sense of humour, and the deep love she held for her family.
Patricia was a loving mother, Nana, a cherished sister, Auntie Buck and a loyal friend. Her kindness was sincere, her support unwavering, and her care for others deeply felt by all who knew her.
Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Leah Olson (Tyler Friesen), her son, Brett Olson (Ashley Schneider) and grandson, Reese, who were the great pride of her life. She is also survived and loved fondly by her siblings, Penny Drury, Jerry Drury, Tim Drury (Monique Bonneau), Jayne MacDiarmid (Rod), Della Fournier (Al), and her nieces and nephews with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and enduring bonds.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald “Manny” and Eleanor (nee Flannery); brothers, Joe and Dave, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
She devoted her life to those she cared for, not only as a friend but also as a licensed practical nurse in Maple Creek and Medicine Hat. She provided exceptional care to many patients throughout her health care career which came full circle as she prepared for her end of life being provided with compassionate care during her brief stay at St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Unit in Medicine Hat.
Patricia’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the example she set through her compassion, resilience, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date in Maple Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Patricia to the Carmel Hospice (St. Joseph’s Home) c/o 156 – 3 St. NE, Medicine Hat, T1A 5M1.
