newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Next month the Unison at Veiner Centre is hosting a special themed dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Tickets for the Valentine’s Date Night Supper, which is on Feb. 13, are on sale for $25 per person and will include a full meal in a romantic setting with live music by Guitarist Jake Lennox. The menu includes shrimp or steak with stuffed potatoes, mushrooms, caesar salad and a dessert, and there will also be a cash bar serving beverages. The Veiner Centre will host two separate seatings for guests. The first seating is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with the second at 6:30 p.m. Staff at the Veiner Centre say tickets are limited and can be purchased in person at the reception desk. Trivia night, Scottish dinner All ages are welcome to participate in a fun night of trivia at the Veiner Centre tonight for a friendly competition. Trivia night begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The free event is open to all residents of the community and will test the memory and brainpower of all participants. Additionally tonight the Veiner Centre is hosting a themed dinner inspired by Scotland. Meals will cost $15 for the Scottish-themed dinner, which included shepherd’s pie, fresh garden salad, dill carrots and a bun, as well as sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The Veiner Centre will serve meals from 4-8 p.m. tonight with a takeaway option available. Community kitchen In March the Veiner Centre is teaming up with the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub to provide a community kitchen program designed for low-income seniors. The free classes for seniors earning under $30,000 annually will provide an opportunity to cook in a group setting while making nutritious meals using the food bank’s kitchen.
