Next month the Unison at Veiner Centre is hosting a special themed dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Tickets for the Valentine’s Date Night Supper, which is on Feb. 13, are on sale for $25 per person and will include a full meal in a romantic setting with live music by Guitarist Jake Lennox.

The menu includes shrimp or steak with stuffed potatoes, mushrooms, caesar salad and a dessert, and there will also be a cash bar serving beverages.

The Veiner Centre will host two separate seatings for guests. The first seating is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with the second at 6:30 p.m.

Staff at the Veiner Centre say tickets are limited and can be purchased in person at the reception desk.

Trivia night, Scottish dinner

All ages are welcome to participate in a fun night of trivia at the Veiner Centre tonight for a friendly competition.

Trivia night begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The free event is open to all residents of the community and will test the memory and brainpower of all participants.

Additionally tonight the Veiner Centre is hosting a themed dinner inspired by Scotland.

Meals will cost $15 for the Scottish-themed dinner, which included shepherd’s pie, fresh garden salad, dill carrots and a bun, as well as sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

The Veiner Centre will serve meals from 4-8 p.m. tonight with a takeaway option available.

Community kitchen

In March the Veiner Centre is teaming up with the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub to provide a community kitchen program designed for low-income seniors.

The free classes for seniors earning under $30,000 annually will provide an opportunity to cook in a group setting while making nutritious meals using the food bank’s kitchen.

Space is limited, to register for the program call Hope, senior support staff member, at 587-770-1420.
