The Medicine Hat Mavericks have announced the first member of their pitching staff for the 2026 season.
The Mavs announced right-handed pitcher Diego Centella will return to the bump this summer, his second campaign in the red and white.
Centella threw 31.1 innings for the Mavs last season , tallying 31 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.44. He pitched in one playoff game in the Mavericks’ first-round series with the Regina Red Sox, recording one punchout in 1.2 innings of work.
Centella joins two fellow returnees announced to the Mavs’ 2026 roster. Infielders Carter Roth and Evan Morrison has been named to the team.
The Mavs open the season May 28 at Athletic Park against the defending WCBL champion Regina Red Sox.
