Local childcare centre issued probationary licence for non-compliance with provincial standards

A Medicine Hat childcare program has been issued a probationary licence by the province.

The Family YMCA John Millar Child Development Centre located at 1721 21st St. SE was put on a probationary licence due to non-compliance with provincial standards, including inadequate supervision.

Education and Childcare issued the licence Wednesday. It will expire April 13.

Childcare Licensing will monitor the program to ensure compliance with provincial standards, and a safety plan has been put in place to ensure all children are adequately supervised.

The childcare program is required to notify all parents of the probationary status.
