Watershed explorers will be out in the parks later this month, as the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program continues its series for youth. The upcoming program, “Testing our Waters” for children aged 6-12, will take place Jan. 25, starting at 2 p.m. Those attending will explore the quality of the water in the local watershed. “We will embrace our inner researcher while using special equipment to look at the chemical and biological properties of water samples and discuss the possible impacts of poor water quality,” said park interpreter Genevieve Matthieu. Participants will earn a different badge for attending each program and will win a prize for collecting all six. As space is limited for these programs, registration is required. Those interested in enrolling their child are encouraged to call 403-529-6225, or visit the Nature Centre to secure their space. These programs are made possible in part thanks to the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada. 5
