The Medicine Hat Mavericks are returning an all-star to their infield.
The local WCBL club announced Monday infielder Carter Roth will return to Medicine Hat this summer for a second season in the red and white.
The Stratford, Ont. product led the Mavs offensively with a .379 batting average and 55 RBIs, earning a WCBL first-team all-star nod. He also had five home runs.
Roth had an MVP-candidate rookie season, sitting second in the WCBL in hits (85) and third in RBIs. In three playoff games he had six hits and four RBIs, running a .429 batting average.
He appeared in the WCBL’s all-star game and was named the Mavs’ top Canadian player for 2025.
Roth joins fellow returnee and Medicine Hat product Evan Morrison as the first two Mavs named to the 2026 roster.
