MHIP’s Watershed Wednesday series will put focus on river ice

Watershed Wednesdays continue with the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program later this month with a look at the January ice.

“The world of river ice hosts a marvel of wildlife interactions,” said park interpreter Erika Derman. “We will walk along the frozen shore as we talk about the importance of ice in Medicine Hat’s dynamic river ecosystem.”

In partnership with the Society of Grasslands Naturalists, the nature walk will take place Jan.21, starting at 11 a.m. at the river access parking lot in Police Point Park. As this program will take place outside, those interested are asked to dress for the weather, though no fee or registration is required to participate.
