In collaboration with the Community Food Connections Association, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is teaching residents how to grow their own prairie plants. Taking place on Jan. 18 at 2 p.m., participants will be introduced to the world of seed collecting and saving, stratification and other forms of propagation. Attendees will be given a small sample of native seeds to get them started. As this program requires materials, spaces are limited and there is a cost of $5 per person to attend. All interested in learning about plant propagation are encouraged to secure their place quickly by calling the Nature Centre at 403-529-6225. Payment can be made over the phone or in person in advance of the program. The program is appropriate for anyone aged 14 or older, but minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian. 5
