The Medicine Hat Mavericks announced their pitching coach for the 2026 season.

The Mavs have hired Andrew Bench as the pithing coach, joining first-year head coach Ryan Reed’s staff.

“The Mavericks are very excited Andrew has chosen to spend his summer with us in Med Hat,” owner and general manager Greg Morrison said in a release. “He has a great blend of experience as a former college pitcher, current GA coach at Milligan and strength and conditioning. He also brings experience in baseball technology, which will add to our organization’s continued development.”

Bench is a graduate assistant with the Milligan University Buffaloes in Tennessee. He pitched for two years of college ball with the Carson Newman Eagles in the SAC from 2024-25.

“I’m grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to lead the Mavericks Pitching Staff for the summer of 2026,’ bench said in a release. “The Mavericks have a history of providing a great product of baseball to the Medicine Hat area. I can’t wait to invest in the community and the players in pursuit of the 2026 WCBL Championship. I’m excited to share my passion for the game with players and fans alike. Let’s go Mavs!”
