newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Beginning Monday, Medicine Hat Police Service says it will resume mailing photo radar tickets to Hatters, dating back to June 24. The police service says it paused mailing automated traffic enforcement and picking tickets in the summer due to uncertainty around Canada Post workers on strike and said no tickets since June 24 have been sent to drivers. This means drivers will now be receiving tickets in the mail from actions they took behind the wheel more than six months ago. However, the service says all payment deadlines and court dates have been adjusted to reflect the mailing date the tickets were sent. Of note, in April the province prohibited the use of photo radar on all provincial highways and connectors, meaning it could only be used by law enforcement agencies in school, playground and construction zones. In Medicine Hat the number of photo radar locations was reduced from approximately 100 to 60 located in local school, playground and construction zones. 8
