The South Alberta Hockey Academy’s women’s team started their weekend with a pair of shutouts, the second half of four consecutive shutout wins. They blanked Balmoral Hall School 3-0 on Thursday before shutting out Pilot Mound Hockey Academy in a 13-0 win Friday. Mika Yokota stopped all 35 shots she faced in the win Thursday, Maria Facca and Taylor Crocker each had a goal and an assist, Kapri Coston had a solo marker. In Friday’s shutout win, Phoenix Buckler stopped all 11 shots she faced. All three of Crocker, Facca and Taye Baker notched two goals and an assist, Coston had a goal and two assists, Teagan Torgerson, Tien Woo and Hallie Parada each had a goal and an assist. Myla Motz and Emily Gerdevich had solo markers. They lost 3-1 Saturday to Balmoral Hall. Motz scored SAHA’s lone goal, Buckler made 29 saves. SAHA finished the weekend with a 4-1 win over RHA Winnipeg. Sara Murdoch scored twice and both Kamryn Reiber and Kailey Karpan each scored, yokota made 47 saves. SAHA’s U18 women’s team (9-9) faces Edge School on the road Saturday. U17 SAHA’s U17 men’s team beat the Notre Dame Hounds 3-1 Friday at home. Oakland Black, Carter Gilchrist and Brendan Espersen each scored, Eric Schrock had two assists. Paxton Smigelski made 18 saves. The U17 men’s (8-3) host Pilot Mount HA on Dec. 12 at the Kinplex (7 p.m.). U15 The Academy’s U15 men’s team faced the Notre Dame Hounds on Sunday at the Moose Rec Centre, winning 8-4. Mason Bryksa and Nash Davis each scored twice, Nelson Sonna Soufo had a goal and two assists, Mark Ma had a goal and an assist and both Cooper Conway and Kyan Vansandt had a goal. S Patrick Curtis made 17 saves. SAHA’s U15 men’s team hosts the Hounds for a rematch on Saturday (5 p.m.) at the Big Marble Go Centre. 18
