Minor Hockey Roundup: U17AAA SE Tigers win lone game of weekend

The Medicine Hat U17AAA South East Tigers took care of business this weekend.

The Tigers won their only game of the weekend, soundly beating the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-1 at home Sunday.

Rhyder Arnold had two goals and one assist, Trevin Ibach had a goal and an assist and all three of Tryp McFadzen, Illya Khazov and Logan Neuls had solo tallies. Hudson Gross had two assists. Jake Druar made 22 saves.

The U17AA SE Tigers (4-6-0-0-1) have two road games this weekend.

U18

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds had two home games, losing 4-3 Saturday to the Golden Suns before winning 9-3 Sunday over the Lethbridge Hounds.

Evan Marentette scored twice in the loss Saturday, Ethan Hall added a solo marker and Treyton Wilson made 42 saves.

Mavric Ward had three goals in Sunday’s win, Zander Weatherhead had two goals and an assist, Colten Pluta had a goal and three assists and Nixon Kunkel had a goal and two helpers. Both Jaxon Benci and Ethan Hall had a goal and an assist, Hudson Corbett made 30 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (6-7-0-0-1) are on the road this weekend for a pair of games.

U16

The Medicine Hat 16AA Hounds dropped a pair of road games, falling 5-2 Saturday to the West Central Tigers before losing 5-2 Sunday to the Red Deer Chiefs.

Brock Schneider and Gage Bowal each scored Saturday, Marshall Turner made 29 saves.

Against Red Deer, Schneider had a goal and an assist and Everett Ward scored. Bryden Tschritter made 40 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (4-8-0-0-1) host the CNHA Northstars on Friday (7:15 p.m.) and the Bow Valley Timberwolves on Sunday (1:15 p.m.), both games at the Hockey Hounds arena.

U15

The U15AAA SE Tigers split their weekend, shutting out the PAC Saints 4-0 on Saturday before losing 9-1 Sunday to the Calgary Bisons.

Hunter Munro stopped all 21 shots he faced in the win over the Saints, the team’s first regular season win. Haysten Biech had two goals and both Jhett Stober and Diesel Bishop had a goal.

Rylan Johnson had the Tigers’ lone goal Sunday, while Knuter Knoll made 42 saves.

The U15AAA SE Tigers (1-13-0-0-0) are on the road for two games this weekend.

Medicine Hat’s U15AA Hounds split their weekend slate, winning 5-2 Saturday over the Wheatland Warriors before falling 9-3 Sunday to the Red Deer Chiefs.

Nash Pahl scored twice and had an assist Saturday, Kane Tuchscherer, Kaspar Copeland and Jacob Cartwright all scored. Colson Neigum made 50 saves.

Easton Brown had a goal and an assist Sunday, Pahl and Koen Millington each scoring in the loss. Maddox Joyal made 58 saves.

The U15AA Hounds (3-13-0-0-1) are on the road for two games this weekend.

U13

The U13AA Hounds picked up a win in two games, beating the Central Alberta Selects on Saturday before losing 7-5 Sunday to the West Central Tigers.

Stetsen Kreiser scored twice and Cohen McLaren tallied a goal in the win, Treyson Donnelly made 24 saves.

In Sunday’s loss, McLaren had two goals with an assist, Exton McGarvey had two goals and Kreiser had a goal and an assist. Asher Nardari made 22 saves.

The U13AA Hounds (3-8-0-0-4) are off until Dec. 13 and 14, hosting the Wheatland Warriors on Dec. 14 (2:45 p.m.) at the Kinplex.
