Two men arrested after business theft

Medicine Hat police quickly located and arrested 36-year-old Cody Rak and an unnamed 43-year-old, both from Medicine Hat, following an afternoon business robbery and scuffle with onsite security.

Police responded to a report of theft from a business in the 2000 block on Strachan Road on Monday at 3:20 p.m.

During the incident, a Loss Prevention Officer intervened and was subjected to a minor physical assault but did not report any injuries.

Police were able to swiftly locate and arrest both males following the robbery after they were discovered in a nearby vehicle.

Rak has been charged with robbery and breach of undertaking and was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before courts Nov. 25.

The unnamed 43-year-old man has been charged with shoplifting under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear before courts Dec. 17.
