The Cypress View Foundation brought some frights and delights for the community Friday with its annual haunted house.
Activities co-ordinator Hilary Hamilton explained to the News that this is something the staff puts on every year.
“All the seniors go through it and all of the staff love to dress up,” said Hamilton. “We’ve also done something of a pumpkin carving contest among the staff.
“It’s just a nice way to get people in the community out to visit the seniors and get into the spirit.”
After spending a full day setting up, Hamilton said she considers it one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
“Every year it just seems to grow and get bigger,” said Hamilton. “This year, we had a fundraising garage sale. I managed to get some money so that we could buy some more creepy creatures and Halloween stuff.”
This is far from the only event Cypress View Foundation puts on, and staff encourage residents to keep tuned in on their Facebook page and come out to the various community-oriented opportunities.
