sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U17 men’s team picked up a pair of weekend wins. SAHA lost the first game of their weekend, falling 5-3 Saturday to the Northern Alberta Xtreme. Carter Gilchrist, Briggs Fabro and Cole Siewert sacred and Paxton Smigelski made 20 saves in the loss. They rebounded, beating NAX 6-3 on Sunday. Dalin Nixon scored twice, adding a goal, and Gilchrist had a goal and an assist. All three of Nixon Bettenson, Oakland Black and Eric Schrock had a goal, Smigelski made 21 stops. The weekend was capped off with a 3-2, overtime win Sunday over OHA Edmotnon. Dane Irwin had a goal and an assist and Lucas Fisher scored the OT winner, Schrock also scored. Chase Neilson made 29 saves. SAHA U17 men’s team (2-2) isn’t scheduled at the CSSHL level until Nov. 21. U18 women’s SAHA’s U18 women’s team lost a pair of games in a weekend against the Edge School. They lost 3-2 on Saturday and fell 5-3 on Sunday. Teylor Crocker and Sara Murdoch scored for SAHA on Saturday, Mika Yokota made 26 saves. In Sunday’s game, Jaylee Skog, Hallie Parada and Sara Stefanic each scored, Crocker had two assists. Phoenix Buckler made 24 stops in net. SAHA’s U18 women’s team (3-5) has three home games this weekend against OHA Edmonton. Saturday they play at 7:45 p.m. before two morning games, Sunday at 10:15 and Monday at 8:15, all three at the Big Marble Go Centre. U15 SAHA’s U15 men’s team had just one game over the last week, a 5-3 loss Friday to the Edge School. Kyan Vansandt had two goals and Lincoln Bensler had a goal and an assist. Patrick Curtis had 23 saves. The U15 men’s team (3-6) has three games this weekend on the road. 18
