Santander taken off ALCS roster due to injury, Loperfido added ahead of Game 4

SEATTLE — The Toronto Blue Jays are taking outfielder Anthony Santander off the American League Championship Series roster due to injury.

He’s being replaced by outfielder Joey Loperfido.

The moves were finalized about an hour before the start of Game 4 in Seattle.

Santander has been dealing with back tightness in recent days.

He started in right field in Game 3 on Wednesday but was pulled midway through Toronto’s 13-4 win. Addison Barger got the start in right field for Game 4.

The Mariners enter play with a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
