Upcoming Interpretive Program walk will look at biology of beavers

By Medicine Hat News on October 1, 2025.

The newest nature walk from the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program explores one of Canada’s most iconic animals as they delve into beaver biology.

“This walk will take us on a fun exploration of beavers – checking out their anatomy, understanding why they do what they do, and discovering what makes them so fascinating,” said park interpreter Rhys Mah Poy.

The walk, which will take place Oct. 11 starting at 3p.m., is free to attend and requires no registration, though those interested are warned they will be going slightly off the beaten path during the outing so anyone with mobility issues should take caution while attending. Comfortable clothing is also advised.

Participants will enjoy some biology facts before setting out on a walk into the park to look at some beaver signs and hopefully catching a glimpse of the beaver family that has moved into the park.
