Stolen property discovered on traffic stop, charges laid against local man

David Messervey, 51, from the Hat faces several charges after police conducted a traffic stop where police received stolen property.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Patrol Section conducted a vehicle stop on Messervey which resulted in his arrest.

Police say he is a suspect in relation to a break and enter to a business that had occurred last Wednesday.

Messervey has been charged with four counts of break and enter, two counts of attempted break and enter, possession of break in tools as well as breach of probation.

Messervey has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before court Wednesday.
