Autumn closure of city public washrooms, facilities begins today

As temperatures start to dip and leaves turn colours, the city is preparing the winterization of outdoor washrooms and facilities.

Starting today, the city will begin winterization of 14 outdoor washrooms and facilities.

The Optimist Park ball diamond washroom and the Moose Ball Complex washroom/facilities will be closed today as part of the winterization process.

The rest of the closures are:

Oct. 3: Ross Glenn Town Centre and Methanex Bowl

Oct. 6: Big Marble Go Centre, Central Park, Lions Park

Oct. 13: Jeffries Park, Police Point Park West, Saamis Rotary Park and Echo Dale Swim Centre (washrooms are available year-round at the Ajax Building).

Oct. 20: Kin Coulee: Band Shell, Kinette Kitchen and Little League ball diamond washroom, Kinsmen Skate Plaza and Strathcona Island Park (two portable toilets will be delivered for winter).

The city will also begin removing water bottle fill stations starting net week.
