Rattlers golf claims two medals at ACAC championships

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers golf team picked up a pair of medals at the ACAC championships this week.

The Rattlers women’s golf team took silver at the three-day championships held at the Alberta Springs Golf resort in Red Deer. MHC’s Ava Bratvold, Zoe Hodgson and Kiara Reesor finished behind Concordia University of Edmonton.

Bratvold and Reesor finished fifth and sixth respectively in the women’s individual competition, Hodgson was 10th. Clark Hayes, also representing the college, finished 18th in the women’s competition.

The Rattlers’ mixed team of Rylan Hodgson, Bratvold, Keelan Burzminski, Wyatt Bishop and Reesor finished third.

MHC’s men’s team finished fourth in the team competition, SAIT finished first. In the men’s individual competition, Bishop finished 10th, Hodgson was tied for 14th, Hayden King was tied for 19th, Burzminski was 22nd, Isaac Stehr was tied for 23rd, Rylan Montgomery came 28th, Adam Sim finished tied for 29th and Makhi Carriere was 31st.

Reesor was named to the ACAC’s all-conference team after the championships.

The Rattlers and Desert Blume Golf Course will host the Canadian College Athletic Association championship in Medicine Hat from Oct. 12-17.
