sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s cross-country team stood on business Saturday. The Rattlers women’s runners had four racers finish in the top-10 of the ACAC #2 Pumpkin run hosted in Lethbridge, finishing first as a team. They were led by rookie Pheonix Asprey who placed third in the 6 km race. Maddie Scrimger (fifth), Reyna Woodruff (seventh) and Ellie Barlow (10th) followed closely. The other MHC finishers in the race were Riley Knapp (17th), Addy Weir (19th), Ciana Catonio (26th), Presley Brennan (29th), Ava Dyck (30th) and Elise Stark (33rd). The Rattlers’ men’s running team had a full-team display for the fist time this season, finishing fourth among the eight schools running. Rattlers runner Logan Pancoast finished fifth over the 8 km distance. Spencer Wilson was 17th, Keegan Kolody, making his ACAC debut, placed 22nd and Griffin Goodfellow crossed the line in 31st. Next up for the Rattlers runners is ACAC #4 in Camrose on Oct. 2. Soccer The Rattlers soccer teams picked up a pair of wins against the Ambrose Lions on Saturday. MHC’s men’s team won 5-1 and the women’s team won 4-1, hosting the Lions at the College. Tata Mugisha had a hat trick in the men’s win and Aleksa Bijelic added a pair of his own. Maksymilian Slaweta faced just two shots, making one save. Nicoly Souza led the Rattlers women’s team with a hat trick, Alexis Ratke added a solo tally. Abby Lalach started in net, making a save. Rylan Morhart worked the last 12 minutes of action, making a save. The Rattlers men (4-0) and women (3-2) are on the road this weekend, facing the SAIT Trojans. 13
