CP NewsAlert: Freeland stepping down from cabinet, won’t run in next election

OTTAWA — Transport Minister Chrystia Freeland says she resigned from cabinet today and will not run in the next election — but she’s not leaving to spend more time with her family.

Her statement follows media reports saying Freeland will be appointed as a special envoy to Ukraine.
