The Medicine Hat Drag Racing Association held their second last weekend of races.
The Drag Strip held the final points weekend with three days of races.
Friday night’s street legal races started with the Street race, won by Ryann Phaff of Medicine Hat. Allan Kestner of Calgary finished second.
Gerald Beatch of Medicine Hat won the Friday Night Bike race, with fellow Hatter Leanne Easton finishing second.
Saturday’s races kicked off with the Jr. Thunder class, won by Ella Jennings of Redcliff. Jaivyn Klassen of Medicine Hat came in second, Hatter Kiersten Bell finished third.
Cole Caron of High River won the Jr. Lightning race, Gary Schaan of Dunmore came in second. The Jr. Street race was won by Bella Winslow of Medicine Hat, finishing ahead of Ryder Harrison of Raymond.
Kelsie Epp of Medicine Hat won the Sportsman race, fellow Hatter Ady Markusson came in second. The Pro Race was won by Monty Beagle from High River, they finished ahead of Brent Buckenham of Carseland.
The Super Pro class was won by Isaac Stettler of Regina, finishing ahead of Danny Holmedal of Maple Creek. Zach Toth of Medicine Hat won the Pro Bike race, beating local racer Dennis Cotten.
Sunday saw 15 races light up the strip. Quinn Olson of Sherwood Park won the Pro Fuel race, finishing ahead of Hatter Aaron Barsness. Paxton Frey of Medicine Hat won the Jr. Thunder Race with fellow Hater Rhys Cramer coming in second. Cole Caron of High River won Sunday’s Jr. Lightning race. The Jr. Street race was won by Bella Winslow of Medicine Hat, Ryder Harrison of Raymond came second.
Scott Richardson of Markerville won the Pro Extreme race, finishing ahead of Will Ehle of Lloydminster. Garret Price of Red Deer won the Super Gas race, Kris Spence of Estevan came in second. Spence took first in the V-Pro race with Price coming in second.
Ashley Szola of Medicine Hat won the Sportsman race with Duarte Silva of Medicine Hat coming in second. The Hot Twin race was won by Cody Minor of Medicine Hat with Mike Rose of Rocky Mtn House coming in second.
The CMDRA Street race was won by Spencer Johnson from Penhold, Steve Brownlee from Calgary came in second. Nick Gregga of Edmonton won the Harley Grudge race with Tiffany Mayne of Edmonton coming in second. The Super Bike race was won by Burke Green of Morinville with Clayton Potter of Calgary coming in second.
Monty Beagle won the Pro race on Sunday as well, beating out Isaac Stettler of Regina. Aaron Steinkey of Dunmore won the Super Pro race with Bruce Valk of Medicine Hat coming in second. Dave Toth of Medicine Hat won the Pro Bike class, Steve Campbell of Airdrie came in second.
The Medicine Hat Drag Racing Association has one more race on the calendar, with two days of racing this Friday and Saturday. Friday night is the last Street Legals race of the season and Saturday sees the Southern Alberta’s Fastest Streetcar Shootout hit the strip.
