Noeline Hofmann, a country music singer from Bow Island, won SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Competition on Sept. 11.

The contest, held in partnership with the Canadian Country Music Association, awarded Hofmann the $25,000 grand prize.

“This competition has been one of the biggest highlights of my career, and I’m so grateful to SiriusXM Canada and the CCMA for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Hofmann. “It’s been a privilege to perform for fans across the country, and what has made this journey even more meaningful is the chance to share it with such incredibly talented fellow artists.”

Hofmann gained popularity after writing the song “Purple Gas” and recording it with country music superstar Zach Bryan in 2024.

She will be opening for the Saskatchewan-born artist Colter Wall when his tour stops in Medicine Hat on Oct. 10. They will play at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre.

“SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition continues to be an incredible platform to spotlight emerging Canadian talent,” said Amy Jeninga, the president of CCMA.

The contest began with a period of public voting that narrowed the competition to three finalists. The final three competitors performed for a live audience and a panel of experts and judges in Kelowna on Thursday night.

“SiriusXM Top of the Country has been a wonderful experience, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead,” said Hofmann.
