The Rattlers men’s team won both of their first two matches at home in shutout fashion, blanking the Red Deer Polytechnic 2-0 on Saturday before taming the Olds College Broncos 11-0. In Saturday’s win, Aleksa Bijelic and Joao Nascimento each scored, Stefan Vrska made four stops for the clean sheet. Bijelic led the offence on Saturday with a hat trick, Joao Cintra also tallied three goals. Kylan Wol-Harden scored twice and all three of Nascimento, Aminja Abbe and Jackson Grace scored solo markers. Maximillian Slaweta started the game, playing 60 minutes before Tayvin Kelemen took over for the last 30. The Rattlers’ women’s soccer team lost 6-1 to Red Deer on Saturday, rebounding with a 4-3 win Sunday over Olds College. Nicoly Souza scored the Rattlers’ lone goal Saturday, Abby Lalach made eight saves. Keandra Leslie found the back of the net twice late in the win over the Broncos, tying and then winning the game. Souza and Olivia Bender each scored a goal, Lalach made three saves. The Rattlers’ women’s team (1-1) is on the road Saturday against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. Both the women’s and men’s team (2-0) host the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks on Sunday. 11
