Tennis Club crowns mixed doubles champs

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club crowned a new mixed doubles champion this weekend.

Emilee Krushel and Brent Meyer defeated Tracy and Calvin Heller (6-4, 7-5), ending the Heller’s run of 10 straight wins.

In the B division, Dawn Olson and Mike Fentabil defeated CoraLee Riehl and Quinlan McElroy-O’Driscoll (6-2, 6-3).

Joe Ciona and Pam Douville defeated Darryl and Irene Giesbrecht (7-6, 6-4) to win the C division.

At the intermediate division, the father daughter duo of Maryn and Geoff Paulgaard defeated Margaret Klok and Lydell Wenzel.

The weekend of high-level tennis saw 50 participants compete across two days before the four teams were crowned.
