Following the Labour Day long weekend a large road resurfacing and sidewalk construction project will begin on Broadway Avenue in Redcliff, expected to impact traffic for more than two weeks.
Crews will begin work Sept. 2 removing the asphalt on Broadway Avenue from Mitchell Street to Main Street to prepare the road for resurfacing. Additionally, work will begin on the construction of a new sidewalk along Sixth Avenue from Second Street to Fourth Street.
Town officials say to expect flagged traffic, temporary road closures and detours during the work which is expected to wrap up Sept. 18.
At times, access and parking in front of residences and businesses will be restricted for a short period.
Officials are asking motorists to obey all traffic flaggers and signs for alternate routes during the closure. Work may be delayed by rain or poor weather.
