ALVIN BRUCE TISNIC November 11, 1950 August 24, 2025 It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Alvin Bruce Tisnic on August 24, 2025, at the age of 74.
Al lived a life filled with passion, kindness, and quiet wisdom. He was a dedicated and compassionate educator who touched the lives of countless students and colleagues throughout his career. His patient guidance and calm presence left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Outside the classroom, Al embraced every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. He loved golf, cycling, skiing, boating, and camping, and he shared his sense of adventure and appreciation for nature with family and friends. Whether on a trail, a fairway, or a lake, Al found joy and peace in life’s simple pleasures.
Al is lovingly remembered by his wife Sherry Tisnic; his children Richelle (Doug) Thomas and Clinton (Alicia) Tisnic; his grandchildren Andrea (Thomas) Allison, Alexandra (Nathan) Lenner, Victoria (Levi) Smith, Oliver, and Emery Tisnic; and his five great-grandchildren, Macy, Jonah, Claire, Amelia and Jasper. He is also survived by his sister Wanda (Brian) Dineen, his brother Keith (Roberta) Tisnic, and his in-laws Joann (Al) Pols, Ron VanBuskirk, Lois (Gilbert) Dupuis and Wanda (Marvin) Hicke. Al was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Esther Tisnic, and Adolf Anhorn.
He will be remembered for his gentle strength, steady wisdom, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives he inspired, and the countless memories shared with family and friends.
A Celebration of Al’s life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time outdoors with loved ones or sharing a kind word with someone in need just as Al always did.
