Registration open for annual Redcliff Coal Burner race

Online registration is now open for the annual Coal Burner 5K Cross Country Run in support of the Redcliff Youth Centre.

The 5k run or walk is aimed for all fitness levels, from casual walkers to seasoned runners, and will take participants on a trail through the Redcliff River Valley Coulees later on Sept. 27.

The event will also include entertainment along the course provided by FUN TIMEZ.

All proceeds raised from the annual run go to support the free prevention program, life-skill development, meal programs and constructive resources found at the Redcliff Youth Centre.

Early-bird registration rates are priced at $35 per adult, $20 per youth and $10 per child, or a family team of four can register for $80.

Registration includes race entry, an event T-shirt, race bib and a Coal-Burner Medal.

Racers are asked to bring a water bottle, weather appropriate clothing and wear trail shoes or runners with good grip.

Registration deadline ends Sept. 20. The race starts at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27 with racer check-in held an hour prior.
