newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com The Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club is looking to enter into a new three-year agreement to sponsor a family public swimming program at the Redcliff Aquatic Centre. The club proposal went before town council for consideration at the end of July, stating the club is willing to make a $3,000 donation annually until the end of 2027. This will allow the Aquatic Centre to host free public swim events for residents on Sundays from 12:15-3:15 p.m. through to the end of August. The town will also display signage at the Aquatic Centre acknowledging the sponsorship of the Kinsmen Club. Throughout August on Saturdays, the Aquatic Centre also runs another free public swim for residents provided by Redcliff Family Dental. 7
I think it’s great that family activities such as public swimming are being promoted, especially with the support of local clubs. It’s precisely these kinds of initiatives that help us disconnect from our routine and create moments of community. Something similar happened to me when I was looking for a way to relax at home, and I ended up trying billionaire spin, which has special bonuses for players from Mexico. It was a good way to distract myself for a while and mentally escape from daily stress.
