On Thursday, the Medicine Hat Police Service re-released information on a physical altercation that occurred during the final evening of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, and are seeking witnesses or motorists with dash cam footage to come forward.

Police on scene were called to the North gate gravel parking lot area shortly after 11:20 p.m. on July 26 after they received a complaint of an adult male and female involved in a physical altercation with Stampede security staff.

According to officers the couple got into a verbal altercation with staff at the four-way stop in the dirt parking lot, impeding traffic leaving the grounds.

It is believed one vehicle stopped due to the altercation may have been kicked by the female.

The incident then escalated into a physical altercation near the exit gate onto 21st Avenue SE.

Police are asking anyone who may be able to identify the male, female, or driver of the vehicle that was kicked, to contact Const. Brent Bohrn directly at 403-529-8481.

Information can also be submitted online through the MHPS website or mobile app.
