asmith@medicinehatnews.com With the next round of grant opportunities right around the corner, the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta is offering an application workshop to help organizations put their best foot forward. To help those interested understand what they qualify for and how to put in a strong application, CFSEA is hosting a free virtual Grant Writing Workshop on Aug. 6, at noon, when applications open. Those interested can register via email at grants@cfsea.ca, or call 403-527-9038. Applications are reviewed by CFSEA’s Grants Committee or by local Community Fund Advisory Committees, and while they welcome all applications, they note that they aim to support initiatives in the fields of work and economy, connection and belonging, as well as basic needs, including housing, food and health, which are their priority sectors. In rural areas, CFSEA places particular emphasis on health, housing and social isolation. For more information on eligibility, those interested are encouraged to visit cfsea.ca/grants, and review the Community Foundation’s 2025 Community Grant Guidelines before applying to ensure eligibility and alignment with funding focus areas. 6
