City plans free celebratory outdoor pool party Monday

Get out your swimsuits and flip flops as the city is inviting all residents to enjoy a free afternoon of swimming and events at the “Hill Yeah!” park and pool party planned Monday afternoon.

The party at Hill Pool will include a water battle zone with reusable balloons and water shooters, giant yard games, free children’s activities, a barbecue, live DJ and in-pool games and competition with prizes.

“Come out and reconnect with friends, meet local businesses and make some unforgettable summer memories,” reads a press release.

The park and pool party begins at 4 p.m Monday and wraps up at 8 p.m.

The city is hosting a four-hour party to celebrate the completion of the year-long Hill Division Avenue rehabilitation work as well as renovations completed to Hill Pool.

Renovations now completed at Hill Pool include an upgraded change-room facility and new accessible washrooms. Additionally the area has received new perimeter fencing and deck lighting, and the pool’s lobby space has been updated.

The city is also celebrating the completion of major utility and road work that occurred throughout 2024 and 2025 along Division Avenue, impacting traffic for more than a year.

The four-phase project includes upgrades to underground pipes and cables, pavement renewal and new landscaping.

Furthermore the city updated road crossings and intersections along the avenue and side streets.
