American Legion: U15 Majestics split weekend games

The Medicine Hat Saamis Rotary Majestics picked up a pair of wins over the weekend slate of American legion action.

The U15AA Majestics opened the weekend with a pair of games Friday, winning 14-3 over the U15AA Twins Blue.

Gavin Nardari had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice, Jace Berner drove in five RBIs with three hits, scoring once. Max Mook had a hit with an RBI and a run scored. Nardari started the game on the mound, working three innings with three strikeouts. Koby Brost pitched two innings with two strikeouts.

They lost the second game Friday, falling 7-6 to the U15AA Cubs. Beckett Lybbert led the Majestics with a pair of hits, scoring twice as well. Dryden Eisenbarth had two RBIs with a hit and a run scored, Kade Velichko had two RBIs with a hit. Lybbert started the game, with five strikeouts in three innings on the mound. Jake Czember also threw three innings, recording five strikeouts. Dylan Harnett pitched the final frame, striking out three batters.

They opened Saturday’s play with an 11-3 win over the U15AA White Butte Broncos. Velichko had a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Gavin Russell had two RBIs with a hit and a run scored, and Lybbert had two hits, scoring twice. Berner started the game on the mound, pitching six innings with eight strikeouts. Russell worked the final frame, recording two strikeouts.

The Majestics lost the final game of the weekend, falling 10-7 to the U15AA Twins Blue.

Lybbert had two RBIs with a hit, Nardari scored twice with a hit and an RBI, and both Berner and Harnett had two hits with a run scored. Velichko, who had two hits with an RBI, started the game with 4.1 innings pitched and five strikeouts. Kaige Deering worked the rest of the game with a strikeout.

Knights

The Medicine Hat Knights of Columbus Knights had a pair of road games against the Lewistown Redbirds on Saturday.

They lost the first game 10-6. Ethan Chenard scored twice with a hit and all three of Ethan Grad, Kane Bishop and Liam Cunningham each had a hit with an RBI and a run scored. Jayden Mook started the game, working five innings with three strikeouts. Cunningham pitched a frame.

The Knights lost the second game, falling 5-1. Chenard had a hit with an RBI, Rylan Ziebart scored the lone run. Ziebart also started the game, working three innings with a strikeout. James Cole pitched three frames.
