newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Three people were transported to Brooks Hospital to treat minor injuries that occurred after a vehicle struck a light pole at a high rate of speed outside the Medicine Hat College campus in Brooks on Monday afternoon. RCMP report the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to roll over after jumping the curb of the corner and hitting the light pole. The collision occurred shortly after 4:40 p.m. on June 30 and police say all three occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital. Calls for service During the month of June, Brook RCMP responded to 575 calls for service and city Peace Officers issued 250 tickets and a total of 80 warnings. In a public statement RCMP remind residents they don’t disclose details on matters involving domestic violence, mental health, or cases involving children to the public unless there is a risk to public safety. 8
