newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com This Saturday residents are invited to Kiwanis Central Park to enjoy several free activities themed around movement, connection and community as the city continues to celebrate Parks & Recreation Month with three consecutive weekends of Energy in Motion events. This weekend’s theme spotlights community parks and will include free disc golf lessons on the park’s new course, held by members of the Medicine Hat Disc Golf Club. Additional games of pickup basketball, soccer and football are planned. as well as lawn games set up to try out. Younger children will have the opportunity to draw in the large sidewalk chalk station, receive free glitter tattoos and join games and activities hosted by Ever Active Schools. The Prairie Pride Guild of Medicine Hat & District will also be on site with a booth showcasing inclusive spaces within the community. Pop’s Popsicle Truck will also serve cool treats throughout the events. The free activities start at 11 a.m. and continue to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Next weekend on June 28 the city will wrap up Energy in Motion with a final event to celebrate the great outdoors planned during the afternoon at Echo Dale Park. 10
