CHL adds 3rd import slot for teams ahead of 2025 draft

The Canadian Hockey League will see more import players on rosters this fall.

The CHL announced a third import slot for all CHL teams ahead of the CHL Import Draft on July 2.

The Medicine Hat Tigers hold the 60th, 121st and 182nd picks in the draft.

Medicine Hat’s two import players this season, Finnish defencemen Veeti Väisänen (Utah Mammoth) and Niilopekka Muhonen (Dallas Stars) are eligible to return next season.

CHL teams are also now allowed to trade selections in the Import Draft.
