@MedicineHatNews Vulcan County issued a fire advisory this week, but so far this spring increased fire risk hasn’t led to status further east in the Medicine Hat region. On Tuesday the county located between Calgary and Lethbridge elevated its status, leading to increased monitoring and giving officials the ability to issue fire permits, but also cancel them on short notice. The County of Forty Mile has had a fire advisory in place since September, and similarly, Special Areas No. 2 and Lethbridge County have warned since late March that extreme caution should be used with fires. Paintearth County, north of Special Areas, issued a fire restriction this week. In Saskatchewan, no fire bans are in place south of Lloydminster. 7
