Cypress County Economic Development is looking for local business leaders to help shape the region’s economic future.

To this end, they are seeking to create a Cypress County Economic Development Strategy Task Force, which will “guide the creation of a comprehensive economic development strategy by offering insight, recommendations and strategic direction,” said Cypress County.

Business owners can self-nominate or nominate someone else by completing the application form online at cypresscountybusiness.ca. Currently, they are seeking four business representatives to join the Task Force, with the deadline to apply being set for May 12.

We’re building a strategy that will drive meaningful growth and create real opportunities in Cypress County,” said Beth Cash, economic development officer. “We want to ensure that our local businesses are not just consulted, but truly at the table throughout this process. Their insights are critical to making sure the actions we take to grow and develop our county align with their real-world needs, priorities and strengths.”

The task force will meet bi-monthly over the course of a year, working with county administration and council to evaluate current approaches, identify opportunities and make recommendations on what should be priorities moving forward.

A final report, based on the Task Force’s findings and recommendations, will be presented to council.
