Adam Massini, 40, and 38-year-old Quintion Stewart are facing a long list of charges after police discovered a modified firearm and three replica guns, along with illegal drugs, following a vehicle search Monday evening.
Medicine Hat police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Valleyview Drive at approximately 5:30 p.m. that led to the arrest of one person following interactions with officers.
Police discovered a controlled substance during a search of the person in custody, furthering the investigation to a search of the vehicle and the arrest of the second occupant.
Inside the vehicle, police discovered a modified firearm with a deface serial number and ammunition along with three replica firearms, an undisclosed amount of controlled substances and stolen identification cards.
Massini faces the following charges: possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, tamper with a serial number of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, careless storage of a firearm, carry concealed weapon, possession stolen property under $5,000, possession of controlled substances and obstruction.
Stewart faces the following charges: possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, tamper with a serial number of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, careless storage of a firearm, carry concealed weapon, possession stolen property under $5,000 and possession of controlled substances.
Both men were remanded into custody and await their next court appearance.
