Blue Cross announces nine recipients for its Indigenous Scholarship program

Alberta Blue Cross is pleased to announce the nine recipients of the 2025 Indigenous Scholarship program.

The recipients each receive $1,500, awarded based on personal goals, financial need and community involvement. A total of 120 applications were received this year, 47 more than the 73 applications submitted in 2024.

The recipients this year are Jayne Scout from University of Lethbridge, Brandie Schnettle from NAIT, Santana Manywounds from University of Calgary, Zoey Germain from University of Alberta, Roberta Disbrowe from NorQuest College, Leeander Young from Yellowhead Tribal College, Courtney Webber from NAIT, Jolene Gopher from Maskwacis Cultural College and Katarina Tinqui from Mount Royal University.

“We’ve been privileged to support some incredibly deserving individuals in their education journeys through this program,” said Brian Geislinger, senior vice-president of Corporate Relations and Community Engagement with Alberta Blue Cross. “This year we have received a record number of applications for our Indigenous scholarship program – and we’re thrilled with the positive response to this program.”
