newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Next Wednesday evening a six-part in-person presentation and discussion series, which provides parents and caregivers tools and information to help raise children in the digital age, will continue looking into the world of internet, gaming and adult content addiction. The presentation titled “Is it addiction? Navigating an Online World of Internet, Gaming & Adult Content,” is the fourth instalment in the series “Navigating the Online World,” which runs each month and is hosted by the Digital Wellness Coalition in collaboration with AHS, Medicine Hat College, the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education, The Beej Project and the local realtors charity foundation. The presentation will be hosted by Chris Shorrock, a registered psychologist who has specialized training and experience helping people struggling with addictions, mood disorders, grift, anger and trauma. The presentation and discussion will spotlight setting screen limits, online and app safety and discuss related topics including social media, and is scheduled to last one and a half hours and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Medicine Hat College Theatre. The event is free for anyone who wants to attend, and no registration is necessary. Next month the series will continue with part five, titled “Social Awareness, Digital Citizenship and Cyber-Bullying,” planned for May 28. 8
