sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Medicine Hat’s Twist and Flips competed at the provincial level over the weekend in Lethbridge. The local gymnastics club sent seven athletes to the Alberta Compulsory Championships for Artistic Gymnastics held at the West Wind Gymnastics Club in Lethbridge. As a group, the seven athletes returned with 14 medals and 12 ribbons. Provincial Level 3 athletes were Sophia Calhoun (10), Shelby Bircham (10), Adrianna Dewar (12) and Willow Chant (12) Calhoun finished third All-Around and also finished third on Beam and Floor and fifth on Vault and Uneven Bars. Bircham finished eighth All-Around, placing first on Floor, seventh on Beam, eighth on Vault and 11th on Uneven Bars. Chant finished third All-Around, finishing first on Floor, second on Beam, third on Uneven Bars and ninth on Vault. Dewar finished ninth All-Around, finishing fifth on Vault, seventh on Beam, eighth on Uneven Bars and 11th on Floor. Provincial Level 4 athlete was Myla Aberle (10). Aberle finished 10th All-Around, placing fourth on Floor, ninth on Beam and 11th on Vault and Bars. Provincial Level 5 athletes were Tenley Aberle (12) and Lauren Pancoast (12). Pancoast finished First All-Around and became the Alberta Compulsory Champion in her category for the third-consecutive year. She placed First on Uneven Bars, second on Floor, third on Beam and fourth on Vault. Tenley Aberle finished third All-Around, placing second on Beam, fifth on Vault, seventh on Floor and 11th on Uneven Bars. 15
