Veiner Centre hosts Irish-themed dinner tonight

Shepherd’s pie and corned beef with green cabbage is on the menu tonight as the Unison at Veiner Centre continues Irish celebrations by welcoming the community to its themed dinner that kicks off at 4 p.m. this afternoon in the Bistro.

The Irish-themed dinner will also include roasted parsnips and Irish flag salad on the side and Irish apple cake for dessert.

The dinner runs until 8 p.m. and costs $15 per person, non-members are welcome to attend.

Conflict Resolution

Next Wednesday the Veiner Centre is hosting a workshop around conflict resolution that includes strategies to navigate disagreements as well as effective communication techniques.

The workshop, part of the lifelong learning series, aims to provide participants with the tools needed to find common ground in conflicts and build healthier connections when they occur.

Registration is required for the workshop that runs March 26 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the boardroom. Free muffins and coffee will be provided for participants.

Income tax

On April 8 outreach officers from Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada will be visiting the Veiner Centre to help members file their taxes.

During the in-person meeting, the Canada Revenue Agency will be able to help obtain tax slips, Notice of Assessments, update contact information and answer any questions.

Officials with Service Canada can help with old age security, Canada pension plan, employment insurance, change of addresses and the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

Officials will be on site from 1-3:30 p.m. Registration is required by calling 403-529-8307, visiting the front desk or online.
