Medicine Hat Tigers rookie Liam Ruck has received league honours for the second time this season.

The 17-year-old was named the WHL’s rookie of the week after tallying three goals in the Tigers’ two wins in the week, extending their win streak to six games.

He scored two goals in the Tigers’ 7-2 win on March 4 at Co-op Place over the Kelowna Rockets. That effort was his fifth multi-goal game of the season, eighth multi-point night as well.

Ruck added a goal in Friday’s 7-1 win at Red Deer over the Rebels.

He has 22 goals and 35 points in 57 games in his rookies season, sitting second among rookie goalscorers.

The Tigers (43-17-3-1) remain in first place of the Eastern conference, just two points ahead of the Calgary Hitmen (41-15-3-3) who have two games in hand.

Medicine Hat heads to Lethbridge on Friday to face the Hurricanes before hosting the Rebels on Saturday.
