asmith@medicinehatnews.com In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, Alberta Blue Cross is highlighting a free interactive series of virtual lectures surrounding women’s health. In partnership with the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society, the Between Us: exploring the mind and body focuses on providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for discussing important women’s health topics. “Empowering women through knowledge and support is a powerful step toward building healthier communities,” said Narissa Kanji, director of community impact with Alberta Blue Cross. “Our continued partnership with Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society reflects Alberta Blue Cross’s commitment to women’s health. Together, we are creating a safe and inclusive space where women can have honest discussions around important topics in women’s health.” In 2024, more than 3,000 participants across the province joined virtually for discussions on topics such as hereditary cancers, urinary tract infections and infertility. “Through the Between Us lecture series, we are creating a space where women can access expert insights, engage in meaningful conversations, and feel empowered in their health journeys,” said Vanessa Lancaster and Rhiannon Adams, co-chairs of the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society. The next lecture, surrounding perimenopause and contraception, is scheduled for March 27. Those interested can register for free online at lhhwomenssociety.com/betweenus. 8
