The Unison at Veiner Centre is hosting a series of fitness sessions aimed to improve strength, cardio and mobility, kicking off next week at the Strathcona Centre.

The first All Level Fitness class begins Tuesday and will be instructed by Marla Howard, who has more than 40 years experience as a fitness coach.

“I love the team work, energy and community we build within a group,” says Howard. “I know everyone is different, so I customize my group classes to be personalized.”

Each week, until May, fitness classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays during the afternoons from 4:15-5:05 p.m.

Classes held Tuesdays will focus on upper-body development, and classes held Thursdays will focus on lower-body development. Every class will also include core activities to strength abs.

“Different levels will be shown and you can choose your own pace and your own level,” reads the restoration page. “Proper form and movement mechanics will always be shown, and there are always options of varying levels of fitness.”

There are 16 sessions in total that run until May 1. According to the Veiner Center there are still 14 spaces remaining in the program.

Registration fees are $112 for members and $160 for non-members; more information can be found online or by calling 403-529-8307.

Movie night

The Veiner Centre is hosting a free screening of the comedy “My Cousin Vinny” later in March. The 1992 comedy that features iconic actor Joe Pesci, follows two young college students from New York who are accused of murder in rural Alabama and turn to an unconventional lawyer for help.

“Expect lots of laughs, great company and a cozy atmosphere. Bring your friends and enjoy a fantastic evening with us,” reads a social media post from the Veiner Centre.

No showtimes have been announced yet, however the movie night is planned for March 20.

Mad Muscles caught my eye because of its promise of customized workout plans, and it actually delivered. What convinced me was reading an in-depth review that broke everything down — how the app builds programs around your specific goals, offers diet advice, and makes pricing super clear. You can check out the madmuscles app review yourself at this link. Honestly, it saved me the time of comparing dozens of random apps and helped me make a smart choice.
